Coca Cola's Name Campaign

Hi everyone!

Yesterday I was sitting with a friend in the kitchen and he was having dinner. We were talking about advertising and he told me about Coca Cola's Name Campaign.

He told me that he never drinks Coke, but that time, when he saw his name on the bottle, he got excited and just bought it because he saw his name printed on a Coca Cola's Bottle. He told me as well that in that moment, he was with his bottle on the pocket always looking at it and showing to everyone.

So my question is: What would happen if the same person saw the bottle again? Would this person buy the same bottle with the same name? Would it be effective again? In my opinion, probably the person would not buy the same bottle. He would buy a bottle with another name. Probably for a friend or family.

In the other hand, probably if he is in a rush and he sees lots of bottles of the same product, he would probably get the bottle that is got his name on it. Just get the bottle and leave as soon as possible.

But what if the price was an issue? Would the person think about taking "his" bottle again? Or would he get a cheaper bottle first? How effective would the campaign be for the same person in a long term?

What do you think about it? Let me know your opinion.

Create a Marketing Campaign to sell the Recycling Concept

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about how to sell the Recycling Concept.

First of all, let's define the idea of Recycle: The definition of Recycling in Wikipedia is:
Recycling is a process to change materials (waste) into new products to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials, reduce energy usage, reduce air pollution (from incineration) and water pollution (from landfilling) by reducing the need for "conventional" waste disposal, and lower greenhouse gas emissions as compared to plastic production. So, It's important to remember that recycling is an Action. It envolves people positive actitud towards the environment.

Taking this into account, let's establish steps to sell the recycling concept:
  1. Define the target: It's important to know who you are going to sell the advertising to. In my opinion, the target to this kind of advertising would be men and women between 10 to 60 years old
  2. Start your campaign: I believe that this kind of campaign can be advertised in lots of medias such as TV, Radio, Internet, Newspaper and Magazines. Also, there can be done Guerrilla Marketing Campaigns that can be very interesting for the Recycling Idea, and that can create emotion on the target.
    • It's important to reach young people as well with the campaign as they have to take care of the future world
  3. Create a Social Media Campaign: Create Games about recycling for Facebook. There can be a huge amount of interesting games for young people who are always on Facebook
  4. Create a contest: You can create a contest of drawing, poetry, video, graphic design, etc., that can be uploaded to youtube and that can become viral videos.
  5. Create a Blog: Create a Blog about the idea of recycling and how important it is for the environment. Also, explain the different ways of recycling, share videos of how to recycle, etc.
  6. Follow the results of the campaign: If necessary, make the campaign longer as the idea of recycling must keep always in our minds.
And, as far as I believe, thats all a publicist has to do to create a good marketing campaign to sell the idea of Recycling.

Please, feel free to share your thoughts and complete with more ideas to make a better marketing campaign for recycling.

Best,

How to sell yourself to get a job

Hi everyone!!

Today I'm going to talk about how to sell yourself to get a good job.

  • First have a splendid CV. It has to be well organized and have all the information about each job you've done in your life (Even if it were volunteer jobs. They count a lot as well because you are helping the community, and that's important for everyone).
If you are an Advertiser or a Graphic Designer, go farther and be creative with your CV. In Deviantart (http://www.deviantart.com/?q=cv) you can find lots of creative CVs for your inspiration.
  • Have a great webpage. It's where people can read who you are and what you do, as well as all your services and products you sell. It's also a way for people to contact you in case they are interested in you. Never forget to put your email on your webpage and/or a contact formulary.
  • Have Social Media Accounts. There are many social medias where you can sell yourself and your products or services. Before opening any account in these Social Medias, just make a research about which Social Media does your target use. You don't have to be in all of them, just in the ones your target are in.
Some of the important Social Media nowadays are:
    • Facebook: Used to have contact with family and friends. Also, you can create a fan page of your company or yourself as a entrepreneur
    • Twitter: Used to talk about news of the world, or little comments (maximum 140 characters) about what you think in a momment of time (you can see what other people are doing or think as well)
    • LinkedIn: Profesional Social Media to create Networking
    • Google Plus: Professional Social Media to create Networking, or to create a personal account as well
  • Create a Video Curriculum. It's a new way to resume a CV of two pages in a few time. It shouldn't take more than 1 minute as the HR person can contact you to get more information about yourself.
If you want to be more creative than just talking to a camera to sell yourself, make very creative VideoCV with a professional software. There are many free softwares to download from internet and that can give you new ideas. I like the stop motion. I think you can create wonderful videos with it that can be funny and professional at the same  time. This is an example of a Creative CV Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOKYsddbxBQ
  • Write a Blog: This is a way for people to realise how much you know about your sector and to show the world your writing style. To make publicity about your blog, just put it's URL on your CV and Social Medias, as well as make comments on other people's blogs, so you can chat with them and they will get to know your site.

I hope this post inspires you and that you add some more ideas of how you sell yourself to get a job.

See you all very soon.
Thanks for reading me!!

How to Advertise A Famous Wedding

Good morning everyone!

Today I've a got a wedding of some friends so I have thought about talking of How a Publicist can Advertise a Wedding.

Imagine you are going to advertise a wedding of a rich and famous couple that have just got engaged.
They would love everybody to know that they are going to get married. Weather it is because they want everybody to know they are getting married, or because they want their fans to come to their big day, just follow these steps for a great announcement of your client's wedding

(NOTE: they don't have to be famous and rich. ;) Depending on this, the publicist has to choose where and how to advertise the wedding):
  1. When engaged, advertise their wedding in the local and national newspaper (only local newspaper if they are not rich and famous): Go to a local and a national newspaper or gossip magazines and let them know that the famous couple are engaged so everybody knows about the big event.
  2. Interview the couple: Famous couple always like to be interviewed when a big event is coming soon in their lives. Sell an interview of them and their wedding plans to a gossip magazines. Women love to know what's happening with the famous people of the world! (or not so famous people as well).
  3. Go to the local and national radio and TV to announce the engagement and the wedding day of your client in daily programs: Even if it's expensive, everybody  wants to know how did this situation come and, when and where the wedding is going to be.
  4. Announce the engagement in the Social Media such as Facebook and Twitter: Let everybody know that they are engaged and their wedding day so people can know when will be the great event.
  5. Create a blog: A blog is a good way to tell people that a couple is going to get married in the near future. Create a blog like a "Diary of a Wedding Plan", where the couple (not the publicist) will tell other people all the steps they are taking to prepare their wedding, and all their sensations and emotions everyday until the great day.
  6. Create a Group or an Event on Facebook to announce the engagement and the wedding day: It's a way of letting people know that they are in love and that one of their best days of life is about to come. And It's a way to control all the guests that are coming as well.
  7. The day before the Wedding, just make a big announcement of the event that is about to come in a few hours: So, everybody that is not invited can congratulate them for the big day anyway.

And that's what a Publicist has to think about to advertise a wedding of a famous (or quite famous) couple.

Please, add any other idea of how to advertise a wedding in the comments so we can share ideas.

I'll see you all very soon!

Characteristics of a Great Copywriter

Hi everyone!!

Today I'm going to give you my opinion about what would be a Great Copywriter. A Copywriter is the person that works in the Creative Department with the Art Director, as they depend on each other.

In my opinion, this is the list of the important things to take into account if you want to be a good Copywriter

  • Write down new ideas: Always have a notebook so you can write whatever you think in  a moment: new words (or new images that can be transformed into new words), new concepts, etc.
  • Think different: It's not only about thinking what you are going to sell, but how is it going to be sold. This means being creative to write a good text in a few space or lapse of time. It will depend on what kind of media you are going to use for the advertising. For example, on Twitter, you have to advertise your product or your company in 140 character or less.
  • Think about your target and what they want from the product: Adapt the product information to the target needs.
  • Take care of you writing: Don't be rude or impolite and be careful not to make grammar mistakes.
  • Look for synonyms in the dictionary: The more you investigate, the better your advertising will be.
  • Read lots of poems: They will make you learn new beautiful words and how to create metaphors
And that's all from me. What also would you add for the list? Let's keep growing it as much as we can!

I'll see you all very soon!!

How to be a good Publicist

Good Morning everyone!

As my passion is Advertisement, today I'm going to talk about how to be a good Advertising agent as It's important to know how to create the best ads for our clients. Never forget that being a publicist is about having passion for what you do, so you can give the best of you on your job

And now, my opinion about the characteristics of a good and professional publicist:

  • First, make a good research of the Advertiser's market: Their clients' needs, the uses of their products and the targets characteristics.
  • Create a brainstorming session with your team to get creative ideas of advertisement. Remember not to judge what your members have to say as everybody is free to give their idea to the rest of the team.
  • Make a good structure of the advertisings. Doesn't matter if it is a graphic advertising, or a TV or Radio ad, always try to create mystery so the consumer doesn't know until the end who is the advertiser. And remember, put more information does not necessarily mean a better ad
  • The objective of creating a different advertisement campaign is to make a big impact on the customers
  • Today customers can get information about a company and their products on internet. So don't lie to them as they will lose faith in the enterprise that you work with.
  • Try the new ways of advertisement. Use internet technology to create advertisings. They cost less than other kind of media, can be much more effective, and you advertisers will thank you for the wonderful job and ROI.
  • Use the Social Media to achieve a higher number of clients for the enterprise. Creating a Social Media for your client means being sure of updating them constantly. It's also important to hear what other people have to say about the company or their products (good or bad opinions), so the advertiser can get a better image and fix the problems with their customers.
  • Never forget to do the pretest and the post test of the ads to make a better advertisement depending on the results you get.

If you have something more to add, please make a coment as I think It's important to keep brainstorming about how can we be a better publicist.

All the best and see you soon,
Amanda

"Creative Favours Chain"

Hi everyone!

Today I'm going to talk about a pretty act called "Favours Chain". I suppose everyone know what this is all about.

For those who don't know, The Favour Chain is about helping others. A person has to help three other people to be helped in response for it. I think helping other people is the greatest thing I've ever thought about. As a teacher tought me one day, "It's nice to be nice". GREAT PHRASE!

The Favours Chain can be called KARMA. I Believe in Karma as the greatest thing in life. I think that Being Excellent To Each Other will bring you a good result as life will apreciate this act and will give you a present in response.

And if you are creative in your actions as well, you will be not only using your imagination but will make someone happy in a very different way.

You could colour a mural in a manner that will make children happy or you could be a volunteer in a Charity to play with those that have difficulties and need help and kindness from other people.

Just keep imagining how you can change the world and the world will give you something in return...

THAT'S HAPPINESS!!!

See you soon everyone!
All the best,
Amanda

Diary of a Creative Advertiser

Hi everyone!

How are you? I'm fine. Today I am happy because it's friday already and now I can enjoy all the weekend.

I have taken a book from the library called "As I Roved Out" because, now that I have finished my training and that I have more free time, at least I keep my mind working (the truth is that, I LOVE READING). I am also looking forward to getting an online course about graphic design or something like this, but I have to find out where to buy it.

Finally, my interview was fine. There's something important you might know. I have a disability in the right hand and It's quite hard for me to do some jobs like being a waitress. But, any other job I can do very well, like working with the computer, etc.

So today I'm gonna send some more CVs and enjoy the rest of the day with a good reading.

I hope everybody enjoy the weekend.

I'll write soon!
